About Hardware Monitor Widget Edition
The Dashboard version of its “bigger brother” Hardware Monitor. You need a working registered copy of Hardware Monitor in order to fully use this widget. The applications are designed to give you access to all sensor readings Mac OS X uses to monitor and cool your computer.
- The widget allows you to select two of your computer’s sensors which should be displayed via Dashboard.
- Unlike other widgets, Hardware Monitor is capable of processing the hardware calibration data Apple stores individually into each G5-based computer. So it displays the exact readings Mac OS X internally uses for cooling control, not just an “educated guess”.
- Temperature values can be displayed in Celsius, Fahrenheit, or Kelvin. To display more than two sensor readings in Dashboard you can launch multiple copies of the widget.

What’s New in this Version
- Added support for new (Mid-2010) iMac computers.
- Added support for computers with Intel “Westmere class” processors, including the new (Mid-2010) Mac Pro systems.
- Added support for many additional sensors found in Intel-based Macintosh computers.
- Resolved a problem where monitoring of light sensors was not possible on Intel-based computers.

What's New:

This is a small maintenance update which only enhances minor issues in the user interface:

  • The menu-bar display will now be highlighted when the menu is open.
  • It is now possible to delete the full sensor preferences set of a remotely monitored computer by a single mouse click when that machine has been taken offline and is no longer connected to the local computer.
  • Corrects a scaling issue affecting the display of history curves when a long term history display had been zoomed out and the window width resulted in a horizontal time sampling resolution between 1 and 2 minutes per pixel.
  • The resize behavior of the remote connection window was optimized.
  • Enhanced compatibility of the disk saver feature with Mac OS X Jaguar.
  • The internal hard drive sensor of Maxtor MaXLine Pro 500 (7H500F0) drives is now also detected by PPC-based Macintosh systems.
