This website provides old version of Chrome starting from Chrome 48: Download older versions of Google Chrome. They have versions for Windows, linux and Mac. They have versions for Windows, linux and Mac.
There are several slightly different versions of Google Chrome - the latest version depends on which platform you are using.

They are all basically the same version of Chrome - typically containing the same functionality and features across platforms - however you'll notice in the table above that usually the very last version number fragment is different between the various platforms.
Do you need to know what version of Chrome do I have?
'I have the latest version of ChromeOS but you say my Chrome Browser is out of date!'
Sometimes you might find if you're running ChromeOS (Google's Operating System for ChromeBooks), you might get a warning on our homepage saying that your version of Chrome Browser is out of date - even though you're running the latest version of ChromeOS.
There are two factors in this happening:

- ChromeOS is based on the underlying technology of the Chrome browser - this is why the version numbers of ChromeOS and Chrome Browser are always almost identical - eg ChromeOS v78 ships with Chrome Browser v78.
- ChromeOS needs the technology of latest version of Chrome Browser to be finalised before ChromeOS can be finalised - eg ChromeOS v79 can't be finalised if the technology for Chrome Browser v79 isn't ready first.
So there's often a short lag between the latest version of Chrome Browser being released and then the corresponding version of ChromeOS also being released. In that short window of time (usually only a few days), you might have the latest version of ChromeOS (no updates are available), but in the mean time the next version of Chrome Browser has been released.
This is a normal part of using Chromebooks and there's nothing you can do about it - it's probably nothing to worry about.

If you want Chrome on your iOS device - either an iPhone, an iPad (or even iPod), you'll need to use the Apple App Store: Google Chrome on Apple iTunes App Store
Chrome is a great web browser
Chrome is available for pretty much all computer platforms, including Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iPhones/iPads. I use Chrome for the majority of my web browsing and recommend it as the best browser available.
I like that Chrome auto-updates itself, because it means that when I'm using it I know I'm always using the latest and safest version possible. That's also why I recommend it to my friends and family; because they may not otherwise take the time to manually update their web browser. If they're using Chrome then I know they'll have a patched and safe browser.
